La Plagne Vacation Rentals

Set high in the French Alps, the ski resort of La Plagne is part of the ski area known as 'Paradiski', one of the biggest high altitude skiing and snowboarding areas in the world, and a prime destination for chalet ski holidays and all manner of winter breaks, thanks to the activities and amenities on offer. It is a mixture of traditional villages and modern purpose designed villages, each virtually self-contained with direct access to the ski slopes, and with a wealth of top ski accommodation and non skiing activities to suit every taste.

la plagne ski rentalsThe Paradiski area, which combines the two resorts of La Plagne and Les Arcs, is one of the largest in Europe, with a total of 293 pistes spread over 425km of slopes. Skiing in La Plagne offers something for every level of skier and snowboarder, making it the ideal resort for beginners, families, and veterans alike. The terrain varies from glaciers and powder rich snowfields to forests and pristine pistes surrounding the beautiful villages and the serene, snow-dusted chalets in La Plagne. The setting is simply breathtaking and unforgettable, and whether you are here to hit the slopes hard, or take a gentler approach to your break, few could wish for a more spectacular location.

The Paradiski area is linked by an impressive double-decker cable car, the Vanoise Express, which was opened in 2003. It whisks visitors across the valley (at an impressive 40km per hour!) doubling the skiing available from your doorstep and offering great value for money. There are also a multitude of freeriding options and three freestyle parks, making La Plagne and the Paradiski area the perfect choice for mixed ability groups.

If you fancy a break from all the snow sport you can test your nerve on the Olympic bobsleigh track, which is open to the public to try between mid December and mid March. Situated halfway between La Plagne 1800 and La Roche, the track was built for the 1992 Olympic Games and since then it has reopened every winter for bobsleigh, luge and skeleton. It is the only one of its kind in the whole of France and as such it is a particular draw for lovers of alpine activity holidays or the more daring holiday makers! There is also an outdoor heated swimming pool in Plagne Bellecôte and two natural ice skating rinks, as well as numerous shops and a cinema. These extra amenities make the resort the perfect destination for families enjoying one of the many delightful self catering ski apartments in La Plagne, or for couples or groups in catered chalets who fancy a break from the rigours of the pistes! While you may be there to ski, there is no reason you can’t find time to relax too.

ski accommodation la plagneThe La Plagne resort is a popular destination for good reason, offering some of the widest variety of skiing accommodation in France. This, along with a diverse range of alpine activities and local amenities, ensures that there will be something for everyone, regardless of taste – part of the beauty of having a ‘family’ of ten resorts rolled into one.

Short breaks in La Plagne are as well served as longer winter ski holidays, so much so that skiing accommodation in France has rarely been so well catered for. La Plagne chalets and ski apartments come in a variety of styles, from the cosy to the convenient, and with the charm and majesty of the surroundings, you’ll be hard pressed to want to leave! Catered chalets in La Plagne are always a popular choice for busy couples, professionals or groups who want little distraction from their holiday, while the range of self catering ski chalets are ideal for families and those who enjoy getting stuck in or want a taste of home!

Of course, French ski chalets aren’t always a top accommodation choice among skiers... the La Plagne resort offers a wide range of other distractions, some of the most exciting being bobsleighing and the luge on the grand Olympic bobsleigh run! With these and other alpine activities on offer, the daring and the busy will have their hands full, which is why a cosy ski apartment to relax in at the end of a long day is so important. Who wouldn’t want to put their feet up and sip a hot drink after sampling the scale of skiing options available in La Plagne?

Winter ski holidays are often more than simply hurling down the piste or enjoying the other more active alpine pursuits, however, especially if you have your family with you. The local shops, ice rinks, and cinema are ideal for those who are after a more serene winter break, enjoy exploring with the kids, or for those who simply want time away from the thrill of the slopes for a day or so. A private ski chalet or one of the many cosy apartments in La Plagne offer the perfect base for your travels, on or off the piste, and nothing beats returning after an afternoon on one of the ice rinks or a splash in the sumptuous heated swimming pool to the cosy, charm of a welcoming chalet.

Whether you are after luxury ski accommodation, a cosy self catering chalet in La Plagne, or one of the more grand catered ski chalets in one of the delightful, snow dusted villages, we are confident that we have something to suit you. Ski, swim, walk, skate, or climb - at the end of the day, home comforts and a cosy place to curl up while the skies empty over La Plagne has to be one of the most important parts of any winter break, which is why we take finding you something special so seriously.
